Deck Resolution – 11/18/2014

Resolution of the LCV Board at the 11/18/2014 meeting.

Resolution on decision on front deck at 37-39 Maine.  Sue Phillips read a prepared statement.

I have apologized for weeks over the situation caused by the construction of a deck in the front yard area of my unit. During this time I have been subjected to unpleasant treatment from some members of the Lake Country Village community, but more painful than that, I have subjected myself to serious reflection on this situation and the resulting consequences to the Board and the HOA in general. At no time was it my intention to put myself above the rules we all live by in Lake Country Village. Unfortunately, by note carefully following the procedures, my request to construct a deck obviously will never be reviewed or evaluated on the merits. My position on this Board makes me more accountable for carefully following procedures and l am therefore held to a higher level of compliance and properly so. As a result, it is my decision, at great personal expense, to remove the decks. They are gone. It is more important to me that my actions do not, in any way, detract from the ability of this Board, or future Boards, to act on behalf of Lake Country Village, than to appeal or fight to maintain the decks. Sue asked if there were any questions. There were none.  Dan asked if there should be any further action by the board. H. Ward made a motion to not fine 35-37 Maine owners since the decks had already been removed. J. Roberts seconded the motion. The motion was passed by all.
