Resolutions of the LCV Board at the 9/20/2016 meeting.

• Motion by Don Miller, second by Peter Hayden, the landscape committee wishes to create a new proposal for the planting of the 11 trees on common area with landscape budgeted funds of $2,000.00 which was approved at the August meeting.  Cook & Gardner will provide the 11 trees and soil amendments for a total price of $966.00.  We have a price quote from Rand Hill Lawns of $770.00 which includes two hours for backhoe and operator (this is the only figure that could change but we feel 2 hours to dig 11 holes should be enough time, plant all trees and clean up the debris and excess soil, etc. this brings the sub total to $1736.00 then add sales tax of $138.88 for the final price of $1874.88.  The balance of the $2,000 budgeted amount will be used in the Spring to mulch around the trees.  Motion passed 6-0.
• Report by Robert Turek, regarding three bids for removal of dead or dying trees in village.  Motion by Peter Hayden, second by Don Miller to approve Rand Hill Lawn quote for tree removal, of $850.00 was passed.  6-0  Tom Maglienti requested the  minutes reflect the reason for choosing the second highest bidder was due to the grinding of stumps that would be less of a disturbance of the soil and a better job overall.
